Sam Bruffy

I completed my PhD with Prof. Andrew Buller at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where my research focused on expanding the substrate scope of PLP-dependent threonine (trans)aldolases. In September 2025, I joined Sarah’s Lab as a postdoctoral researcher. My current work focuses on engineering polymerases for template-dependent oligonucleotide synthesis. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature, socializing with friends, and reading romantasy books.
